Frank Stella artwork in the United States
Shipyard Bijlsma was approached by CIG architecture to build a sculpture for the artist Frank Stella in the United States. Because of the complex and round shapes that ships contain, our shipyard was commissioned to build this artwork. The artwork was built in compartments at our shipyard in Wartena to prepare it for shipment to the United States. In the United States, we assembled the compartments to prepare it for the exhibition. This artwork was a special project in which the qualities of steel construction of a shipbuilder were deployed.
